Artist Bio

Ferjo, born Fernando de Jesus Oliveira in 1946 in Salvador, Brazil, is a celebrated artist known for his surreal and imaginative works. He has gained international acclaim for his dynamic compositions that blend elements of realism and surrealism, often paying homage to legendary artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Pablo Picasso, and Rene Magritte. Ferjo’s unique style is characterized by dreamlike interior spaces that incorporate fantastical elements and tributes to his artistic inspirations.

His artistic journey began early, with Ferjo recognizing his destiny as an artist at the age of 8. Despite coming from a working-class family, his talent and determination led him to pursue academic training at the Federal Art School of Salvatore in Brazil. His career took a significant turn in 1992 when he received a scholarship to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art in Philadelphia, thanks to the patronage of Jose Vaz Espinheira, President of “Partners of America.”

This opportunity allowed him to immerse himself in the study of European masters and refine his technique and style.
